The BN series control device unit with IO-Link technology has been updated with new functions and configurations, significantly extending its scope of application. With new versions enabling integration of 4, 7 and 8 devices, updated firmware and replaceable lenses, the BN IO-Link control device unit is now an even more versatile solution for man-machine interfaces.
Wide range of possible configurations
Introduction of the new versions makes it possible to integrate 3, 4, 6, 7 or 8 control devices within the same BN IO-Link control device unit.
Each BN IO-Link unit can be customised with illuminated buttons, 2 or 3-position selector switches, key selector switches or emergency-stop buttons, enabling machinery manufacturers to easily build the most appropriate configuration for their application.
IO-Link firmware update
BN IO-Link series control device units have also been updated with the new IO-Link 1.1.4 firmware.
This update introduces the option of checking the state of the emergency stop button via the IO-Link protocol. Management of the safety function remains assigned to the two dedicated NC contacts, but it is now possible to acquire auxiliary information on the button’s state directly via the IO-Link protocol
Interchangeable and customisable lenses
The BN IO-Link series control device unit can be further customised thanks to new interchangeable coloured lenses available with or without markings.
Six colours are currently available: black, white, red, green, yellow and blue. A wide selection of markings can be added, in the form of either text or symbols.
This solution makes it possible to quickly adapt and replace the lenses on devices based on application requirements.
