LBK 2 Generation Expands New Horizons in the Lighting Industry
With a long history of leadership in industrial lighting, fluorescent lamps are being phased out. In August 2023, the exemption permitting the sale of fluorescent lamps expired, and now they can only be sold from existing stock. The main reason for the ban, in addition to high energy consumption, is the presence of mercury in fluorescent tubes.
Lighting manufacturers have long transitioned to LEDs. Customers using the LBK 1 system experienced no significant changes after the expiry of the exemption, as this model is suitable for use with both fluorescent lamps and LEDs. With the new model, the LBK 2 system goes beyond the requirements of the current RoHs directive, as the LBK 2 system is also available completely free of halogens.
The system’s performance has been adapted to LED technology. The LBK 2 system has a lower profile and accommodates up to 11 poles, allowing for two emergency lighting circuits or two DALI circuits.
The connectors are adjustable, offering a flexible choice of phases. Another significant advantage of the LBK 2 system is its maximum pitch of 2,300 mm, which means that fewer lighting points are required in luminaire production, thereby saving valuable resources and optimizing material use by luminaire manufacturers.”
